I’ve just created a repo on Sourceforge called hgweb-templates
Why? And more importantly, why Sourceforge? Well, I chose SF as they have out of the box support for Mercurial. Plus they’ve been around forever. The reason for the repository is that there are few changes / improvements I’d like to make. My current preferred template is gitweb, so I’ve started with that.
The first issue has been bugging me for a while. I have about 30 repo’s on one of my servers. The index page has links to RSS / Atom feeds which probably makes sense on a public server, but on a private one, used only by me — no sense at all. What I wanted instead was a link to the repository files. Using the gitweb template required clicking on the repo name, then clicking on the files menu icon. Sure, not the end of the world, but annoying when there was a place on the index page that was being wasted.
To my surprise, this first task was completed in about ten minutes!
Gitweb before

Gitweb after

Feel free to have a poke about the repo and if you have any useful customisations, please let me know.
